Mountains on an e-bike

Embark on an unforgettable e-bike adventure accessing stunning mountain views via a scenic road, including a serene lakeside stop and epic vistas at Narvikfjellet, perfect for beginners with snacks and confidence-building rides!

The tour

We will meet at our office in Narvik at 14:00 and present you the plan for the day. After fitting you to your e-bike, we will explain how to make the most out of it, take it for a spin to make sure you're comfortable and get going!

We first ride on the road to access the mountains. We will then be riding 2 different areas: the first one is a stunning gravel road above the fjord that takes us to a little cabin by a lake. After some well-deserved snacks, we will be heading back and veer up towards Narvikfjellet. Ascend with ease and delight, courtesy of your e-bike, transforming what might have been a challenging climb into a smooth and enjoyable journey.

The views from the top are epic and will leave you breathless! As we ride our e-bikes down, grow confidence on your technique in this very unique spot between fjords & mountains.

No need to have previous experience, this tour is accessible to beginners on e-bikes!

Ready to live a memorable outdoor adventure?

  • Is the tour suitable for children?
It's not ideal for them but we believe every kid is different and you're the one who knows them best! From experience kids need to be at least 8 years old to enjoy the activity. However, have in mind that it can be late and "boring" to them (lots of waiting!). Give us a call if you have a doubt, we'll be happy to talk through it together :-)
  • 4 to 7 hours? How long is actually the tour?
It depends on each night. Some nights we have to drive far (all the way to Abisko in Sweden!) and can be back around 1am or later. Other nights we are lucky to have the northern lights very close to Narvik and if we see them early, we could be back before 23:00. We consider there isn't a fixed schedule to follow, every show is unique so flexibility and patience are key to spot the northern lights :-) We always let you know what's our plan for the evening when we meet.
  • What are the chances of seeing the northern lights?
On the overall, the chances are good most nights in Narvik area. We evaluate daily the chances for the evening based on weather forecasts and solar activity reports from the NASA and then decide to run the tour or not. We will share our evaluation honestly with you so feel free to ask us! If we consider chances are very low, we will warn all guests and potentially cancel the tour. You then get a full refund. Keep in mind that northern lights are a natural phenomenon hard to predict and impossible to control... :-)
  • What's your success rate?
We're happy to spot the northern lights more than 90% of the time. We believe it is thanks to a thorough evaluation of weather forecasts and solar activity reports by our team. When chances are too low, we prefer not to run the tour so we guarantee you can trust us regarding this. We want to see the lights as much as you do! When we do not see the lights, we have usually found clear sky, it's just that the northern lights don't show up, and that we have no control over.
  • Do I get a refund if we don't see the northern lights?
The answer is pretty straightforward, no. First because the costs are the same for us whether we see the northern lights or not. Second because there is much more to the tour than just seeing the northern lights. You will learn how to chase them, how to find a good spot, which app to use, how to take pictures and more! Even if we don't see the northern lights... :-) We want to see them as much as you do and we will be giving our best! It's part of the magic and nobody has control over nature. What we do guarantee you is that we only run tours when we consider there are chances of spotting them.
  • The date / time I want is not available, what do I do?
Send us an email at booking@dayoutnarvik.com We'll do our best to accomodate your request!
